At RAWLI, we believe youth should be given opportunities to develop and practice skills and character that will help prepare them to become lifelong leaders. Our Youth Advisory Council drives the organization. Our Board of Directors are the adults legally responsible for overseeing the administrative and financial aspects of the organization. Together, the Board and YAC form RAWLI’s Governance Team. The goals of our Youth Advisory Council are:
To empower students to form a collaborative partnership with staff, supporters and volunteers to meet common goals
To spark creativity and imagination within the organization by bringing the youth perspective to decision-making and plans
To provide opportunities for youth to develop leadership skills in a service-learning environment where students are challenged to learn as they lead
To develop work habits and skills that will benefit students and the organizations they later serve in their professional careers
